My new short film Who Remembers How It Ends?, which had its premiere screening earlier this month as part of Shorts That Are Not Pants, will next be screening with Astron-6’s cyberspectacular Manborg, this Friday and Saturday at the Royal Cinema in Toronto, co-presented by The Substream! Big thanks to Ultra 8 Pictures!

Starring Matt Brown and Mike Cameron and based on a true story from the bachelor party of Daniel E. Cockburn, Who Remembers How It Ends? is about two men, an elevator, alcohol, and the space-time continuum. Who Remembers How It Ends? is written and directed Matt Brown, produced by Katarina Gligorijevic, photographed by Jean-Pierre Joubert, edited by Stephen Roque, production designed by Rajo Zakic. Everyone can relax - I’ve finally seen The Royal Tenenbaums, and my opinion of Wes Anderson’s work is therefore now based on the entirety, rather than a patchwork composite, of his films. And I liked it! Of everything Anderson made before Fantastic Mr. Fox, Tenenbaums is my clear favourite. Part of this is simply due to my longtime fascination with the incest problem in sophomore work (yes, I know it’s actually his junior work), which Tenenbaums solves handily. And this in turn makes me wonder what happened to Luke Wilson - although I was quickly reminded that when he’s not working for Anderson, he sorta sucks. I’m racking my brain trying to find the exception to that rule.

Taken a look at the Hollywood moviestar lately? Some might argue that the star system is dead, but don’t tell Liam Neeson – he’ll prove you wrong and kick your ass. Plus, we talk about Matt’s James Bond series, From A to Bond – already in progress on The Substream! – and heap praise on Shorts That Are Not Pants.
